The contest begins Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at 12:01 A.M. and ends Thursday, November 15th, 2009 at 11:59 P.M.
To enter, simply submit a story or comment on a posted story located on the Wheelchair Getaways forum page. Any legal resident of United States age eighteen or over can enter, except employees, agents, or representatives of Wheelchair Getaways, (the “Sponsor”) or any of its parents, subsidiaries, sister companies, or affiliates, or any member of their immediate family. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, garbled, or incompletely received, for any reason, including by reason of hardware, software, browser, or network failure, malfunction, congestion, or incompatibility at the website or elsewhere, will not be eligible. Wheelchair Getaways, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website, or otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify any Wheelchair Getaways Contest not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure, or technical failures of any sort.
Entrants represent and warrant that their Submission is their original work, it has not been copied from others, and it does not violate the rights of any other person or entry.
All entry materials become the property of Wheelchair Getaways and will not be acknowledged or returned. The copyright in any submission shall remain the property of the entrant, but entry in this Contest constitutes entrant's irrevocable, perpetual permission and consent, without further compensation or attribution, to use the Submission and the entrant's name and city and state for editorial, advertising, commercial and publicity purposes by the Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor, in any and all media now in existence or hereinafter created, throughout the world, for the duration of the copyright in the Submission. Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor shall have the right to edit, adapt, and modify the Submission. Each entrant releases and discharges the Sponsor, the judges, any party associated with the development or administration of the Contest, their employees, agents or representatives or any of their parents, subsidiaries, sister companies, or affiliates from any and all liability in connection with the Contest, including without limitation, legal claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages, demand or actions of any kind.
The winners of the contest will be the persons whose positive and inspiring travel stories and/or images received the greatest number of valid votes (“Votes”) from the public and who satisfies all of the rules (“Qualified Winner”). At the end of each month Monthly Finalists will be chosen based upon the number of votes received. At 12:01 A.M, October 15th, 2009 the accumulated stories from the Monthly Finalists will be placed in a specific area of the forum. From there, winners will be chose based upon votes and content as deemed relevant by the judges.

In addition, three finalists that vote (“Voters”) will be selected from the Wheelchair Getaways Giveaways Contest by a member or members of the staff of Wheelchair Getaways (the “Judge(s)”). All three finalists will be awarded like prizes based upon their number of participating votes and will be published, as a feature, on the Wheelchair Getaways website, along with each finalist’s name and city and state and are selected as a finalist. The Judge(s) will tabulate the Votes and announce the winner on the Wheelchair Getaways website. All decisions of the Judge(s) are final and binding.
The Qualified Winners of the Wheelchair Getaways Giveaways Contest will receive:
Two (2) First Prizes: Each first prize winner will receive a prize package that contains the following: four (4) coach class airline tickets, four (4) Play 4 Days park hopper tickets, 2-night accommodations at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Winner must use the prize before 10/15/10. If winner is unable to fulfill during this time, the winner then forfeits their prize. Vacations and vacation components may not be sold, traded, transferred or rescheduled to dates other than as set forth above. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $4096.00.
Winner and Guests are solely responsible for any incidental travel expenses incurred including, but not limited to, taxes, ground transportation, meals, beverages, gratuities, souvenirs, spending money, hotel services, telephone charges, insurance (if desired), personal expenses and all other charges not otherwise specified herein. Upon check-in at the hotel, Winner will be required to leave a credit card imprint or cash deposit to cover incidentals. Blackout dates or other restrictions may apply. Winner travel arrangements are subject to availability. Hotel stay, theme park, and hard ticket dates may not be changed after scheduling, acceptance, and confirmation by Disney. All elements of the trip package must be used, redeemed, fulfilled, booked and/or confirmed at the same time, and no changes will be permitted. If winner is unable to fulfill any portion of the prize during the time period specified, winner forfeits the entire prize package. Winner and guests must travel at the same time. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value. All tickets are valid during normal operating hours only. Operating hours and availability of attractions and shows are subject to change without notice. Some special events may be separately ticketed. All tickets specifically exclude admission to special or separately ticketed “hard ticket” entertainment events at any of the theme parks.
The winner and travel companions must agree to the airline's Terms and Conditions of travel. Once confirmed, trip dates and travel accommodations cannot be changed by winner; however, travel is subject to availability, blackout dates, and/or change due to circumstances beyond the Sponsors’ control. Winner and travel companions must travel on the same dates, itinerary, and fare class. No extensions will be permitted, and any unused travel will be forfeited. Winner and guests are responsible for ensuring that all travel papers required for travel to the Destination are in good order, and are valid prior to, and for the entire duration of, the First Prize Period. Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer and may not be separated and must be accepted as awarded, cash equivalent substitution will not be available. All tickets issued in conjunction with the First Prize are not eligible for frequent flyer miles, and no code-share flights may be used.
Two (2) Second prizes: Each second prize winner will receive a scholarship check in the amount of $1,200.00 made out to an accredited educational institution of their choice for the purpose of course tuition. The winner agrees to apply tuition before January 1st, 2010. If winner is unable to fulfill this obligation, the winner then forfeits their prize. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $1200.00.
Fifty (50) Third prizes: Each third prize winner will receive a certificate good for $50.00 off the total cost of renting a Wheelchair Getaways accessible van. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $50.00.
All prizes or prize certificates will be mailed to the winner with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. Wheelchair Getaways is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Wheelchair Getaways may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
In accepting the prize, the winner, and any guest(s), acknowledges that Wheelchair Getaways may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize(s). All prizes are subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and where prohibited. Income and other taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
All entries become the property of Wheelchair Getaways and will not be acknowledged or returned. Except where prohibited: (i) acceptance of the Prize constitutes consent to use winner’s name, likeness, and winning entry for editorial, advertising, and publicity purposes, without further compensation; (ii) winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and copyright transfer/liability/ publicity/permission release. If the winner is deemed to be a minor under the jurisdiction of his/her residence, the parent or legal guardian must execute the necessary affidavit and release. Affidavits and releases must be returned within ten (10) days of attempted notification or an alternate winner may be chosen.
Wheelchair Getaways retains the rights, in its absolute and sole discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or approximate value in the event of the unavailability of any prize or component of the prizes for any reason whatsoever.
