Vocational Rehab

 
The person in a wheelchair because of disease or injury needs a support system throughout recovery, rehabilitation, and adjustment to daily life. Vocational Rehabilitation specialists are key persons in this support system and advocate for wheelchair accessibility. The strength of the wheelchair user's support system depends largely on their efforts.

 

Vocational Rehab is a potential source of payment for accessible transportation. Patients who do not qualify for workers' compensation may qualify for vocational rehabilitation services.  If a person is to return to work, Vocational Rehabilitation may pay for vehicle modification and interim transportation services.
